K&N was founded by Ken Johnson and Norm McDonald thus the name, K&N. Since inventing the K&N reusable high flow cotton air filter in 1969, K&N has been the world’s leading manufacturer of washable performance air filters and air intake systems. K&N air filters demonstrated great performance and durability, and manufacturing these air filters soon became the primary focus of the company. The company grew steadily and expanded product lines. In the late 1980’s K&N invented the concept of a bolt-on performance air intake kit to replace the factory air box and air filter. Located in Riverside, California, K&N is a world class filtration company selling air filters, oil filters, and air intakes in over 30 countries. K&N sells over 5,000 products designed for cars, trucks, motorcycles, engines, and industrial applications.
