Tensioner for the alternator, A/C, and power steering

Your BMW’s accessory belt is constantly tensioned against the accessory pulleys by the tensioner. Over the course of tens of thousands of miles, the tensioner pulley bearing can wear out causing squealing noises from the engine bay. Also, the tensioner itself can fail causing poor tension on the belt resulting in slipping.

Please note: Must also replace the tensioner mounting bolt, part number 11287530315, not included with this tensioner. The tensioner requires use of a T60 socket in order to depress the tensioning mechanism to remove the belt. Tightening torque for the bolt is 25Nm (~18 ft. lbs.) + 90°.
