Sway bar/stabilizer bar links are an often overlooked replacement item on most cars. The purpose of the sway bar link is to connect the sway bar to the suspension and to load the sway bar while cornering. Often times sway bar links do not show signs of wear and will require further inspection in order to determine their need for replacement. Usually a worn sway bar link will make itself apparent by making clicking sounds while traveling over bumps at slow speed.

The function of stabilizer links, also known as connecting rods

They transmit torsional forces occurring between the body and the chassis to the stabilizer of the particular axle. Depending on the design of the front or rear axle, they form the necessary connection for optimal interplay between wheel guidance and stabilizer. The body roll of the vehicle during cornering is minimized, ensuring safe roadholding.
