Unlike the other E46 control arm bushing kits we sell, this control arm bushing kit is designed by MEYLE to be a heavy duty upgrade. What does “heavy duty” mean exactly? The simple explanation is the component has been revised from the factory design. More specifically the rubber in the bushing is upgraded to a harder, more durable rubber and the overall internal design is tweaked for maximum performance and long term reliability.

We often recommend this control arm bushing kit over polyurethane for street cars due to its awesome ride quality and durability characteristic. We also recommend this kit as a performance upgrade since the HD bushing tends to isolate control arm movement improving front end chassis stiffness and road feel. These are perfect for cars that have been lowered with a cup kit or coilovers that primarily get driven on the street.

Suspension Control Arm Bushing Kit

Control arms are links that help connect and stabilize the vehicle’s suspension to the sub frame of the vehicle. Many vehicle’s, while varying in suspension layout, will have control arms with serviceable bushings and/or joints on either end where they meet the undercarriage or spindle of the vehicle.

Suspension Control Arm Bushing Kit Failure Symptoms

As the rubber on these bushings degrades or cracks they will no longer provide a rigid connection and cause problems in handle and ride quality. Often times to save time and cost it is possible to press out the original worn bushing and press in a replacement instead of replacing the complete control arm.
