Steering rack boots may not seem like a critical component but here at GTVAUTO we beg to differ. The purpose of the steering rack boot is twofold. The primary purpose of this boot is to keep dirt and moisture away from the inner steering rack seal while providing protection to the inner tie rod end joint.

Cracked or missing steering rack bellows are often the main culprit behind steering rack leaks and inner tie rod end failures. When replacing your BMW’s tie rods, we suggest also replacing the steering rack bellows to ensure a long and trouble free service life of your steering system.
